Regular Appointments
Appointments are scheduled for a set duration. Please make sure to raise your main concerns at the start of your visit so they can be addressed promptly.
Duration of Patient Attachment
Patients who have not been seen in the clinic for two years or more are no longer considered active with the physician/clinic and are not eligible to book appointments or attend as walk-ins.
Walk-In Appointments
Walk-in visits are limited to a single health concern. Controlled or narcotic medications, including but not limited to Tylenol # 3, 4, sleeping aids, sedatives, and anti-anxiety medications, will not be prescribed to walk-in patients.
Late Cancellation
We require at least one business day’s notice for appointment cancellations or rescheduling to avoid a no-show fee. All changes must be made during regular clinic hours. Cancellations cannot be accepted via answering service or email. For appointments booked within 24 hours, this policy applies immediately upon booking.
No Show Policy
Following two no-shows or late cancellations, patients will no longer be able to schedule appointments and will be seen on a walk-in basis only, where available.
Test Results
Patients are kindly requested to book an appointment to review their test results.
Referrals
Notification of referral appointments by telephone or mail may take up to three weeks. If you have not been contacted by the clinic or the specialist within this timeframe, please contact the clinic for an update
Prescription Refills
Please book an appointment or come as Walk-In if your medication is running low.
Uninsured Services
Not all services are covered by Alberta Health and Wellness. Our staff can confirm any applicable charges prior to your appointment with the physician. Payment for uninsured services is required before services are provided. We accept cash, debit, and most major credit cards.
Behavior
Patients who are rude or aggressive may be asked to leave the clinic immediately, and their appointment or walk-in visit will be cancelled. In severe cases, emergency services (911) may be contacted, and the incident may be reported to the police.
Confidentiality
We respect your confidentiality. Written, witnessed consent is required to release any medical information to third parties, including parents, counsellors, or spouses, unless the patient is present at the time of disclosure.
Termination of Doctor-Patient Relationship
To ensure the best possible care, a strong doctor-patient relationship is required. If this relationship becomes compromised, it may be ended. In such cases, emergency medical care will be provided for up to one month or until the patient finds a new family physician.
After Hours
If our services are required outside the normal hours you will be requested to dial 811 (Health Link). As part of the Mosaic PCN, patients of this clinic can avoid long waits at the emergency departments and have booked appointments at ACCESS Clinic. Your doctor will get a copy of your consult with the physician at ACCESS Clinic the next day to insure continuity of care.
